Community Music at Tufts offers Saturday classes for kids, teenagers, and weeknight programs for adults. Children actively engage in music-making and internalize elements of rhythm and ear-training through meaningful movement. Dalcroze Eurhythmics prepares the body as an instrument, developing coordination, attention, flexibility, focus, vocal and rhythmic precision. It increases the student's capacity for cooperative learning, and it prepares a deep and solid base for instrumental and vocal studies. Each class includes eurhythmics movement, ear-training, improvisation, and music notation. Eurhythmics and Piano I One hour class. By learning to play simple songs, students are introduced to basic rhythmic notation and to the musical grand staff.

Faculty members go through an extensive interview and audition process before being accepted to teach at the ISM. Many hold masters and doctorate degrees from the most acclaimed and respected music conservatories and are dedicated and passionate about their art and teaching. I came to the United States to pursue my academic career in music and graduated from Berklee College of Music in , majoring in Professional Music. Teaching all levels, from beginning through advanced. I recommend adults to take one-hour lessons every other week. Children do better with half hour lessons every week. Ask about renting a harp! Anne has some 30 years of performance and teaching experience and would love to help you get started learning to play the harp, or help you continue on your harp adventures if you have had some previous lessons and experience.
